Marius “The Whitemare” Zaromskis Two Vicious head kicks earned Marius Žaromskis the supreme title DREAM Welterweight Grand Prix Champion in 2009. Spinning kicks, back flip attacks and flying knees are just a few of many spectacular techniques that the Lithuanian MMA fighter Marius Žaromskis like to use in the ring. His extravagant techniques, lightning fast kicks and in many ways unorthodox fighting style has entertained fight fans all across globe over the past ten years. In 2009 Marius reached a big milestone in his career when he in a most fashionable style won the first ever DREAM Welterweight tournament. In his run for the title Marius first defeated the well rounded fighter Seichi Ikemoto from Japan by keeping the fight standing by using excellent take down defence and out striking Seichi in every single round of the fight. In the Semi-final Marius stepped in as a major underdog against Japanese PRIDE FC veteran Hayato Sakurai only to moments later step out again victorious due to a left high kick that floored Hayato followed by strikes at the ground. Marius then squared off against Jason High in the final who he knocked out with yet another spectacular head kick only 2 minutes in to the first round, completing his amazing accomplishment and crowning him DREAM Champion . Prior to the DREAM tournament success Marius had made himself a name as a treacherous striker at the British promotion Cage Rage where he achieved five victories in seven fights, none of them, win or loss, ending up on scorecards. His offensive, attractive and powerful style of fighting did not go unremarked and in late 2009 Marius Žaromskis signed a multi fight contract with the American promotion Strikeforce. In January 2010 he made his much anticipated Strikeforce debut against Nick Diaz for the vacant Welterweight title. But things did not turn the way Marius wanted and he ended up loosing both the fight to Nick Diaz and the following one to Evangelista Santos in June 2010. After fighting a no contest fight against Waachiim Spiritwolf in November 2010 Marius returned to Japan to compete at the massive New Year’s show DYNAMITE facing off with Japanese superstar and MMA veteran Kazushi Sakuraba. There Marius defended his DREAM welterweight title by striking and partly dislocating Sakuraba’s left ear forcing the doctor to stop the fight. Since then Marius has competed at the Canadian event Score Fighting Series in June and also at the most recent DREAM event in July scoring a win over Japanese Pancreas veteran Eiji Ishikawa. Now Marius is preparing himself for the BJJ and Judo black belt Brazilian Bruno Carvalho who he will face at the Rumble Of The Kings event in November at the Hovet Arena in Stockholm Sweden. Carvalho who will enter the ring undefeated in his last eight fights will certainly test every aspect of Marius ground game given that it goes there. Stay tuned at Rumble Of The Kings official facebook fan page for the upcoming article and interview with Bruno Carvalho and also more information about the whole event!
