WFC Middleweight Champion, two black belts and undefeated in his eight most recent fights, Bruno Carvalho is undoubtedly doing great at the moment. Now he is making all the preparations necessary for his next opponent, the top ranked DREAM Welterweight Champion Marius Žaromskis. |
“At this level there is no such thing as luck” Bruno Carvalho was born 29 years ago in Salvador Bahia Brazil and was raised in to a family of supreme athletes. His grandfather Francisco de Magalhães Pinto (8th Dan black belt in Judo) his mother and four uncles who all carriers black belts gave Bruno the perfect platform to learn and prefect himself within the arts of grappling. Obviously training became a part of Bruno’s life early and over the years he has earned himself a 2nd Dan black belt in Judo and 3rd Dan black belt in Brazilian Ju-jitsu. Inspired by his grandfather and uncles Vale Tudo fights Bruno himself turned to active competition in 2003. Since then he has gathered titles and belts in a big pile including WFC Middleweight Champion, three times BJJ Copa Nordeste Champion, three time BJJ of Bahia Champion and two time Gameness Champion and his current MMA record reads 13 Wins and 4 losses. In 2006 Bruno moved to Sweden and started up his own camp (Team Carvalho), he also joined the Gothenburg based MMA club GBG MMA, a move that has taken his fighting game to a new level. Bruno: GBG MMA is really a fantastic club, just come down for a sparring session and you will see for your self hehe. It offers me great sparring and also a possibility to train with very talented fighters. Moving here has really been good for my development as a fighter. There is no question that Bruno has become more then “just a grappler”. In his most recent eight fights (all wins) he has won four of them by first round knockouts proving that he is comfortable where ever a fight might go. This is also confirmed by Bruno when I ask him to describe himself as fighter. Bruno: I am smart hehe, Patience and aggressive at the right moments. Pretty much complete cause I’ve competed in Judo, BJJ, SW, Wrestling and Thai boxing. I think I can do good in all areas. I’ve got more knockouts then submissions lately haha, so I think I am 50/50 total but sure, I’m better known for my grappling, that’s in my blood.
Now Bruno is less then 50 days away from the up coming fight against the current DREAM Welterweight Champion Marius Žaromskis, an unpredictable striker with top of the line experience from several big events. To be prepared in the right way will be of most importance for Bruno, he is not only fighting a dangerous opponent he will also face him in a lower weight class then he usually fights in. But when asked about this Bruno explains that he already has the puzzle fit together. To sum things up I ask Bruno where his confidence level is right now considering that he is coming of an eight fight winning streak and also how he thinks that the fight with Žaromskis will end. How the fight will end?.. And the winner by … Brunooo Carvalho haha! That is what you guys are going to see and experience! The match-up with Bruno Carvalho versus Marius Žaromskis is by many seen as one of the most interesting European MMA fights of the year. For Bruno a win would certainly take him one step closer to the biggest arenas and yet another step up on the rankings (currently ranked 5th Middleweight fighter in Europe). For Žaromskis this is a “must win fight” to maintain his position as one of worlds best Welterweight fighters. No matter the result this will undoubtedly be a explosive encounter between two amazing athletes giving everything they got to step out as the winner. Video of Bruno’s most recent fight
