A little more then a week ago Ray Sefo decided to turn down his November 26th fight against Jörgen Kruth at ROK leaving the Swede without an opponent. Since then the Rumble Of The Kings match maker has searched the globe for a short notice but still worthy opponent for Kruth |
|
Now ROK is happy to inform that such adversary has been found and the selected fighter is the Japanese grappler Yusuke Kawaguchi.
The former DEEP Megaton (Heavyweight) Champion Yusuke Kawaguchi is a 3rd Dan Black belt in Judo, a Brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a solid striker with heavy hands. Yusuke began his mixed martial arts career in high fashion colleting eight straight victories at the Japanese promotion DEEP ending five of theses fights by knockout. In this winning streak Yusuke also won the Organizations Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament earning him the DEEP Megaton title which he moreover successfully defended three times. Besides DEEP Yusuke has also fought victoriously at the currently biggest Japanese MMA promotion DREAM and he has also competed at the international events M-1 Challenge and KSW. Among his previous opponents you will find fighters such as Shunsuke Inoue, Roque Martinez, James Thompson and “The Worlds strongest man” Mariusz Pudzianowski. Yusuke is by many regarded as one of the best heavyweight fighters in Japan and although he has suffered back to back losses he still holds an impressive professional Mixed martial arts record with 13 wins (6 KO’s) and only 4 defeats. For Jörgen Kruth who holds a perfect record in MMA ( 4-0 ) this will be a completely different task to handle then what a fight against Ray Sefo would have been since Yusuke Kawaguchi is a far more experienced MMA fighter and also a much stronger grappler then Sefo. This means that Jörgen will face a totally opposite opponent then he prepared for but this will likewise been an opportunity for the MuayThai veteran Sweden to prove that he indeed has transformed in to a versatile mixed martial artist.
