Like so many times before there was a big gathering of fans, associates and media that followed Rumble Of The Kings press conference, this year held at the Scandic Grand Central Hotel in Stockholm. All fighters looked ready and eager to step in between the ropes and every one of them successfully passed their weigh in limits

The press conference started with the event promoter Paolo Roberto holding a brief speech about the event and in what order everything will play out tomorrow. He was followed by the Swedish Muay Thai president Fredrik Johansson who informed that the WMC tournament will be ruled with full Muay Thai rules but with less clinching to achieve more active fights. Johansson also pointed out that in all Muay Thai and K-1 fights hard kicks are point awarding even if they hit the block, so all techniques that are thrown with power behind them will grant points. The vice president of the Swedish MMA federation spoke about the MMA rules and the importance of an active ground position for fighters that ends up on the mat, if it is not active the fight might very well be stopped.With all of the rules and event information done it was finally time for the much awaited weighing of the fighters.

KATRINA TEER Vs HANNA SILLÉN – MMA -57Kg
First up on the scale was the female MMA competitor Katarina Teer from the United States who will be making her professional debut tomorrow. Facing her in the ring is the versatile Swede Hanna Sileen who has four victories in five MMA bouts.

PATRICK BOGERE Vs IONUT TRANDAFIR ILIE – BOXING -67Kg
The professional boxers Patrick Bogere of Sweden and Romanian Ionut Ilie looked ripped and ready and they both weighed in at exactly 66,8 Kilograms.

MERAN ZANGANA Vs PETTER JUUHL – K-1 RULES – 75Kg
Weighing in at 73,2 Kilograms Norwegian Muay Thai fighter Petter Juuhl gave away almost 2 kilos to his opponent Zangana from the Swedish VBC camp who made his weight at 74,8. This matchup is by many expected to be dramatic encounter since both men has solid striking skills and doesn’t hold it back.

RHASSAN MUHAREB Vs MARTIN AKHTAR, MUAY THAI -67Kg
Four Scandinavian Muay Thai Champions have been selected to compete in a tournament for the much desirable title – WMC Nordic Welterweight Champion 2011. The first semi-final holds the aggressive fighters Rhassan Muhareb of Denmark (66,6 Kg) and the Swede Martin Akhtar who weighed in at 64,9 kilograms making him the lightest of all competitors in the tournament.

PASI LUKKANEN Vs SANNY DAHLBECK, MUAY THAI -67Kg
The second Semi-final sees the much popular and talented Swede Sanny Dahlbeck (66,4Kg) who received loud applauds while entering the scene. He is up against the shorter but more experienced fighter Pasi Lukkanen (66,7Kg) from Finland.

ABBE JOOF Vs DAVID ONUFER – K-1 RULES – 81Kg
Shaped like a bodybuilder David Onufer (80,4Kg) surprised many when he with ease passed the -81Kg weigh inn limit for tomorrows fight with the always cool Abbe Joof (81,0Kg) from Sweden. Both men looked relaxed and comfortable as they faced off for the mandatory stare down.

CHAHID OULAD EL HADJ Vs DZHABAR ASKEROV – K-1 MAX RULES
Like expected the most intense staredown of the evening was made by the hard hitting and aggressive MuayThai and K-1 stars Askerov (70,0Kg) and Chahid (69.9Kg) who shared no love as they faced off. A good start to a fight that is likely to become a real war in the ring.

JÖRGEN KRUTH Vs YUSUKE KAWAGUCHI – MMA, -105 KG
Jörgen Kruth (96,9Kg) who has been in the US making his final preparations for this fight looked utterly well shaped as he stepped up on the scale, muscles that certainly will come in handy tomorrow as he will clash with the extremely strong and experienced Japanese Judo blackbelt Yusuke Kawaguchi. Weighing in at 104,6 Kilograms the Former DEEP heavyweight Champion Kawaguchi will have a considerable weight advantage over the Swede who usually fights in light heavyweight.

ALEX TOBIASSON HARRIS Vs YOSHIHIRO SATO – K-1 RULES -75 KG
Japanese star and two-time K-1 MAX Champion Sato (74,1Kg) acted as a true gentleman on the scene as he politely shook the hand of his adversary Alex T Harris (74,7Kg). Alex who is regarded by many as a major underdog for this fight joined Sato on the polite pattern and also made a calm and humble appearance.

BRUNO CARVALHO Vs MARIUS ZAROMSKIS, MMA -77KG
Bruno Carvalho (76.0Kg) has pressed his natural heavyweight body in to a slim fit Welterweight version making him look monstrous in comparison with the 175 cm tall Dream Champion Zaromskis (76,6Kg) . Zaromskis did not seem affected by this at all as he took his time entering the stage calmly and seemingly ignoring Carvalho. It is match up that sherdog.com has ranked as one of the ten biggest fights outside of the UFC this month and the expectations and rightfully sky-high.

YODSANKLAI FAIRTEX Vs ARTUR KYSHENKO, K-1 RULES – 72,5 KG
With big and much deserved applauds the huge stars Yodsanklai Fairtex (72,2Kg) and Artur Kyshenko (72,2Kg) entered the press conference stage for their weigh inns. There was a visible respect shown and shared between the two supreme athletes that will engage each other tomorrow in what has been brand as “The biggest Muay Thai middleweight fight of the year”.
